John E Richardson The Great KNOWN

  • by John Anthony West Year: 1993 Pages: 281pp John Anthony West's revolutionary reinterpretation of the civilization of Egypt challenges all that has been accepted as dogma concerning Ancient Egypt. In this pioneering study West documents that: Hieroglyphs carry hermetic messages that convey the subtler realities of the Sacred Science of the Pharaohs. Egyptian science, medicine, mathematics, and astronomy were more sophisticated than most modern Egyptologists acknowledge. Egyptian knowledge of

the universe was a legacy from a highly sophisticated civilization that flourished thousands of years ago. The great Sphinx represents geological proof that such a civilization existed. This revised edition includes a new introduction linking Egyptian spiritual science with the perennial wisdom tradition and an appendix updating West's work in redating the Sphinx. • EXPERIMENTAL PROOFS that the SURFACE OF STANDING WATER is NOT CONVEX but HORIZONTAL BY parallax 1870 Excerpt: “ If the earth is a globe there cannot be a question that, however irregular in form the land may be, the water must have a convex surface ; and as the difference between the true and apparent level, or the degree of curvature would be 8 inches in one mile (statute measure), and in every succeeding mile 8 inches multiplied by the square of the distance, there can ho no

difficulty in detecting either its actual existence or its proportion. ... My own long experience as an experimental investigator has proved to me that however complicated and conflicting may be the mere systems and opinions of men, the great principles and truths of nature are always simple and consistent."   19

Sir Hubert Wilkins Under the North Pole

  • Fully illustrated, this is one of the first published accounts of US Freemasonry in the early 19th century. This book has a controversial backstory which is part of the movement of anti-Freemasonry. ‘Captain’ William Morgan, the author, was a disappointed Freemason in Batavia, New York. Rejected by the local lodge, he announced that he was going to publish a work exposing Masonic rituals and secrets. Shortly before publication in 1826, he disappeared, and three Masons were later convicted of

kidnapping him. Although claims were made that Morgan had been murdered, some say that he was forced to leave the US. Either way, it was good publicity for this book, which was published in 1827, but bad for the Masons. The incident led to widespread protests against Freemasons in the US, and eventually an anti-Masonic Party, which at its height in 1832 got seven electoral votes for William Wirt for President.

  • The Christian Topography of Cosmas Indicopleustes is a literary monument of Byzantine origin. The book was written in the sixth century by the monk Cosmas, whose sobriquet, Indicopleustes, points to an earlier career as a merchant and traveler. The work was widely disseminated in translation in Russia, where it had a long manuscript tradition and was read and transcribed for centuries. Among the Old Believers (dissenters from Russian Orthodox reforms in the mid-17th century), the work

remains popular to the present day. In terms of content, the composition is a medieval encyclopedia of a unique character. It contains knowledge of both a theological and a natural philosophical or scientific character, and describes, from the perspective of Christian dogma, human understanding of the surrounding world: the structure of the universe, the geography of the world, the nature of humanity, the animal world, and so forth. Manuscripts of the work as a rule were illustrated. This copy

contains many colorful miniatures illustrating the book’s themes. The manuscript, which dates from the early 19th century, is from the collections of the Institute of History of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (II SO RAN) in Novosibirsk, Russia, and was acquired in Vostochno-Kazakhstanskaia Oblast (part of present-day Kazakhstan). It was digitized in the early 2000s as part of the Meeting of Frontiers project of the Library of Congress and partner institutions in the

Russian Federation, the United States, and Germany.

  • A Masonic Bible is in most cases a regular King James Bible, containing both Old and New Testaments, with some pages at the beginning describing Freemasonry and how different passages in the Bible relate to different ritual and history of the Fraternity. Take away that section, and it is simply an edition of the King James Bible. It has been claimed by some that Albert Pike's book, Morals and Dogma, is a Masonic Bible. Morals and Dogma presents history, philosophy, and opinions regarding

Albert Pike's reworked Scottish Rite rituals. The Scottish Rite is a body of Rites going on in number past the 3 Blue Lodge degrees. The Blue Lodge being the basic system on which Freemasonry is typically founded. The Scottish Rite adds an additional 29 degrees of study, yet being a Scottish Rite Mason adds no higher degrees the There is no requirement that a Mason goes through the degrees of a Scottish Rite, and many Freemasons never join it. In the introduction to PIke's Morals and Dogma,

he clearly states, "The teachings of these Readings are not sacramental, so far as they go beyond the realm of Morality into those other domains of Thought and Truth. The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite uses the word "Dogma" in its true sense, of doctrine, or teaching; and is not dogmatic in the odious sense of the term. Everyone is entirely free to reject and dissent from whatsoever herein may seem to him to be untrue or unsound. It is only required of him that he shall weigh what is taught,

and give it fair hearing and unprejudiced judgment." This doesn't seem to fit the notion some may carry about the Holy Bible, insofar as being considered by individuals as the infallible word of God handed down to man. Of course, there are many different views of the Bible itself, yet to say Pike's book was ever intended to make such claims upon the reader goes far afield of a book that one must follow. In Pike's own words, the teachings are not sacramental. That seems to eliminate

considering it in the same class as the Holy Bible, of which many derive sacraments and comfort.

  • This is a very thought provoking book with some intriguing content about some of the North and South Pole US Navy expeditions which discovered more land way outside the boundaries of the globe Earth symbol. The explorers did not go over the North Pole or under the South Pole to return to familiar temperate waters, instead they found no ends to the Earth with more land waiting to be discovered. Not a universe of empty space between balls but a universe of ice, snow, and freezing oceans between

    temperate land masses.
